Reliable cranes used to install and maintain cement plant equipment
Reliable cranes are often the key to the stable operation of a factory. This sentence was not said by me, but by the person in charge of a cement factory in Vietnam. I saw a case today where a Vietnamese cement plant was using cranes to install and maintain equipment for the largest cement plant currently built in Vietnam. The company aims to optimize safety, efficiency and reliability at its expanded 12,500 TPD facility in Ha Nam Province. We have had many cases of designing and manufacturing bridge cranes in cement plants and have rich experience, but this does not prevent us from learning some details that we may have overlooked from the construction cases of other crane companies.
What role does the crane play in the cement plant?
The crane supplier supplied the cement plant with four overhead cranes with lifting capacities ranging from 6 tons to 35 tons for the installation and maintenance of the plant equipment.
The cranes provide key production technology to facilities up to 45m above the ground or more than 12 storeys high, lifting tools and machinery to the top of the factory, including grinders and silos, to help ensure uninterrupted production at Xu Thanh. The safety and reliability of overhead cranes can be enhanced by remote monitoring technology that provides self-diagnostics and usage data, allowing users to optimize maintenance activities and check maintenance and application compliance. Issues of safety and efficiency are of great importance for the Xu Thanh equipment maintained by the crane, which services the drum and filtration process technology of the grinding mill, as well as the motors and gearboxes mounted on top of the silos used for bulk storage.
Nguyen Quang Trung, deputy director of Xuan Thanh Cement Manufacturing Company, said: “We use cranes frequently, sometimes even every day. For example, large cranes are important for lifting equipment for maintenance and repairs, while small cranes can be used to lift tools and machinery to The very top of the silo.
“Cranes are very important to the production process. Their safety comes first and that is why we chose this crane company. We have used other cranes but they were not very good. This time we thought before making our choice Lots of cranes.”
The key to selecting cranes for cement plants
Basically, for any large-scale industrial project, safety comes first. The key word we heard repeatedly from the sales manager of this cement plant was safety, whether it was the durability of the crane in a harsh working environment, or the stability and service life of the crane during work. But what we actually want to explain to our customers is that there are other equally critical parts to crane selection.
First, you need to determine the maximum load weight that the crane needs to bear. This depends on factors such as the production scale of the cement plant, the number of production lines and the weight of materials that need to be handled. Make sure the load capacity of the selected crane meets production needs and can operate stably in harsh working environments.
Crane maintenance and upkeep are very important for its long-term operation and stable performance. Therefore, it is necessary to choose a crane that is easy to maintain and maintain to reduce maintenance costs and reduce failure rates.
To sum up, cement plants need to comprehensively consider factors such as load capacity, working environment, work efficiency, safety and maintenance when purchasing cranes. Only by choosing a crane that meets actual needs can the production efficiency and safety of the cement plant be ensured.
