Gantry cranes not only play a role in the industrial field, but can also provide irreplaceable help in the service industry. The case we are telling today is that a hotel in Canada resorted to gantry cranes and other lifting equipment when installing a chiller.

Lifting equipment used to install chillers

Two 3.0t aluminum alloy gantry cranes, four 2.0t hand chain hoists and four 3.0t beam trolleys were used for the installation. Two 3.0t aluminum alloy gantry cranes, four 2.0t hand chain hoists and four 3.0t beam trolleys were used for the installation.

Installation presented significant obstacles due to tight underground spaces, limited headroom, narrow widths and small door sizes. The choice of rigging equipment was based on several factors: the width of the room dictated suitable I-beams, while the height dictated the use of two 3.0 ton gantry frames.

What we learned from this case

Dongqi Crane provides various types of bridge cranes and gantry cranes to large enterprises such as steel plants, cement plants, and logistics companies. Since it cannot provide rental services to overseas customers, it is relatively unfamiliar with the demand for cranes in the service industry. Through this case, we saw customers’ reliance on light and small lifting equipment. Perhaps customers do not have a strong need to purchase equipment, but for equipment rental companies, finding a reliable lifting equipment supplier is equally important to customers in the service industry. In this case, it was very important to stay calm when installing a chiller in a narrow underground space. The reliability of the lifting equipment also provided safety guarantee for the rapid implementation of the project.
